Free OT network analyzer: map your plant from a packet capture.

Drop a .pcap or .pcapng file and see every machine on your plant network, how IT and OT connect, proposed zones and the findings that matter. The analysis runs in your browser and the capture is never uploaded. Record a few minutes of plant traffic, up to 500 MB.

What the analyzer shows you.

  • 01Every machine on the network, with its vendor and role.
  • 02Who talks to whom, and where IT reaches into OT.
  • 03Proposed zones and enclaves for your plant.
  • 04The findings to fix first, ranked by severity.

Questions about the network analyzer.

No. The file is read and analyzed in your browser and never leaves your computer. Trout only receives summary counts, such as the number of machines, zones and findings, and the names of the OT vendors and protocols found, to recommend the right plan.

Record a few minutes of plant traffic, up to 500 MB, from a mirror (SPAN) port on the OT or line switch, with Wireshark or tcpdump. Use the OT side rather than the core uplink: it is quieter and gives a cleaner map. The capture guide has the exact commands.

Modbus/TCP, S7comm, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, PROFINET and BACnet, among others, plus the IT protocols around them such as DNS, DHCP and remote desktop.

Up to 200 machines, one appliance covers the plant: see Access Gate Starter. From 201 to 500 machines, a larger plan fits better: see pricing. Above 500 machines, the analyzer points you to the plans instead of drawing the map.

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on how many captures you analyze. Ordering is a separate, optional step.
